Welcome to arts and crafts

In my book THE CINNAMON STICK you will find several Arts and Craft ideas that have a meaning to bygone days.  This pictures is of Sachet bags filled with potpourri.  Potpourri was a blend of spices with flower petals and essence oils to make a pleasing aroma.  It was used in the days of Greeks and Romans to ward off unpleasant odors.
Tassels are easy to make and you will find the direction in my book page 23.  The Arabs love to decorate their camels and ropes and tassels were used, along with bells.  Tassels work good on belts and trims for vests or pillows.
A couple of my clay objects.  I must have made thousands of them during my Art Show days.  I made people doing different things, buildings, nativity scences, christmas scenes plus numerous porcelain angles. These were fired in a kiln but one could use modeling clay and bake in an oven.  Another way to use your creative instincts.
These weaving show an example of the many wall hangings I have made during my Art Show days.  I included instruction on how to weave a small wall hanging in my book The Cinnamon Stick on page 17.  I used cinnamon stick in the brown weaving.  Just another way to add a special effect and aroma.

In my book the Cinnamon Stick I used weaving as an example how the Arab women would use a body loom to weave garments out of the wool from the animals on the caravans.  Weaving was a necessary activity for women in days gone by.  We now can use this craft for decorative items today.
This Santa was made by Barb Schumacher a friend of mine who was a talented lady.  It may give some of you an idea of your own to decorate for Christmas.  The world is open to creative talented people with the will to try something new.
This rusted tin angle was used as Christmas decoration in Salado, Texas one year.  I really loved them they were over six feet tall and were placed all around the shopping area during their Christmas Stroll.  If you don't know about Salado, it is an unique place with numerous boutique and bed and breakfast's places.  Worth a trip during Christmas.
